My Story

Although I am a student who had to take a nontraditional approach to my university studies, I used this period to my advantage by developing my professional skills during my career in IT & customer service, and through achieving certifications. These experiences gave me the necessary aptitude needed to succeed in my field of Strategic Communications, as I graduate in the Spring of 2024 with my Bachelor of Science from Old Dominion University.

Through my studies and work experience, I have learned how to write strategically, manage & analyze social media, and have gained valuable research skills on communication topics. I have experience from various internships that have developed my skills further to include my current internship at Jefferson Lab as an internal communications intern. Through this experience so far, I was able to have a profile feature published on the homepage and I continue to gain experience in science-focused content writing, editing, and project management. My writing samples can be found in my projects or check out my other skills that set me apart!

My professional interests are to pursue graduate school to further my academic interests in computer-mediated communication (CMC) research and to gain industry experience as a writer in the communication field.
